Estate of Henry Albertson to Jacob D. Addis This indenture made the third day
of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty five
between Jacob D. Addis and Margaret
his wife of the Township of Knowlton in the County of Warren and
state of New Jersey of the first part and William F. Albertson of the
Township of Knowlton in the County of Warren and state of New
Jersey of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first
part for and in consideration of six thousand seven hundred
and sixty three dollars and forty seven cents good and lawful
money of the United States of America to them in hand well and
truly paid by the said party of the second part at and before
the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
is hereby fully acknowledged and the said party of the first
part therewith fully satisfied contented and paid have given
granted, bargained and sold, aliened, enscoffed, conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and
sell, alien, enscoff, convey and confirm to the said party of the
second part and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain
farm lot tract or parcel of land and premises situated in
the Township of Knowlton in the County of Warren and State
of New Jersey Butted and Bounded as follows: ___Beginning
at a set stone corner of Allen and Hutchinsons land, thence
(1) north eighty eight degrees east forty three chains and eighty
one links to stones for a corner in William Craig's line
thence (2) south twenty six and a half degrees west forty
one chains and thirteen links to a stone corner thence
(3) north fifty nine and a half degrees west eight chains and five links
to a stone corner, thence (4) south twenty seven and a half degrees
west fifteen chains and twenty three links to a stone corner thence
(5) south eighty nine and a quarter degrees west ten chains and seventy
two links to a stone corner thence (6) north one and a quarter degrees
west forty five chains to the place of beginning containing one
hundred and thirty three acres and ninety three hundredths of an
acre be the same more or less. Being part of the same land which
the said Jacob D. Addis purchased of the executors of Henry Albert-
son, dec'. Together with all and singular the benefits, priveleges and
advantages with the appurtanances to the same belonging or in
anywise appertaining also ll the estate, right, title, interest, pro-
perty, claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the
first part of in and to the same and of in anto every part
and parcel thereof; to have and to hold all and singular
the above described tract or lot of land, and premises with
the appurtances unto the said party of the second part
his heirs and assigns to the only proper use, benefit and behalf
of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns for-
ever. And the said Jacob D. Addis doth for himself his heirs, ex-
ecutors and administrators, covenant and grant to and with
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that
the the said Jacob D Addid and Margaret his wife the true
Lawful and Right owner of all and singular, the above
granted and described premises and of every part and parcel
thereof, with the appurtenance and are now lawfully seized
and possessed of the same as a good perfect and absolute
estate of inheritance in fee simple and that the same
or any part thereof at the time of the sealing and delivery
of these presents are not encumbered by any Mortgage,
Judgement, dower, recognizance or limitation or by any in-
cumbrance whatsoever by which the title of the said party
of the second part hereby made or intended to be made for the
same or any part thereof can or may be changed, charged, alter-
ed or defeated in any way whatsoever. And also that they the
said party of the first part now have good right full
power and lawful authority to grant, bargain, sell and
convey the said land and premises in manner aforesaid.
Also that the said Jacob D. Addis and his heirs will and shall
Warrent, Secure and Forever Defend all and singular the
Lands, hereditaments and premises hereby granted with the
appurtanances unto the said party of the second part his
heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands
of all and every person and persons freely and clearly freed
and discharged of and from all manner of incumbrances what-
soever. In witness whereof the said Jacob D. Addis and
Margaret his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the
day and year first above written.
